Neil Richards – PADI Course Director

Neil became a PADI Scuba Diving Instructor in 2003 and has dived virtually every day since.  He has worked for some of the best dive centres in the World and dived in some of the most exotic locations, including Australia, Mexico, Fiji, India, Egypt, Malaysia and all over Thailand.  As a PADI Award winning Instructor, Neil became a PADI Course Director, making him of one the highest qualified and most experienced Dive Instructors on Koh Phangan.

As the Resident Course Director of Phangan International Divers, 5 star IDC Centre on Koh Phangan, Neil and his team are able to offer the highest quality and standards of teaching, as well as having a lot of fun!


As well as teaching Divemasters and Instructors, Neil has many Speciality instructor ratings and can therefore take Instructors to even higher levels such as Speciality Instructor, Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) and Staff Instructor.

Neil’s passion for his work is contagious, so much so, that many of his past students and divers from different parts of the World, travel to Koh Phangan to enjoy Scuba Diving with him again.  Many of them becoming so enthusiastic about the sport, that they stay with him to continue their “Scuba Futures”, and become Divemasters and Scuba Diving instructors.

Other than Diving and Teaching on Koh Phangan, Neil takes part in lots of the other activities the Island has to offer, among them,  Wakeboarding, hiking and beach volleyball.

Neil and his wife Monique arrived on Koh Phangan in 2008, and decided to make the Island their home.  They live in the beautiful Fishing Village of Chaloklum, in the North of Koh Phangan, with their dog Chop.  Having several years of island life, they are always happy to share their local knowledge and favourite restaurants and bars with guests.
